A CONCERT IN A TAVERN AMONG RUINS

framed: 46½ by 24½ in.; 118.1 by 62.3 cm.

With Galeries Nackers, Brussels (according to a label on the reverse).

The lower portion of this composition closely compares to a drawing of the same subject by Alessandro Magnasco sold at Sotheby's London in 2014,as well as to a painting by him showing a concert in an interior.2  The architectural setting of the present painting loosely recalls that found in Magnasco's painting of a similar theme today in the Nationalmuseum, Sweden.3
