After the large-scale panel painting by Rubens (199 x 302 cm.) in the Alte Pinakothek, Munich (inv. no. AP 572)1 - his second treatment of the subject, painted in circa 1638. This copy has previously been attributed both to Theodoor van Thulden and Guillaume Forchondt the Elder, but the attribution to Victor Wolfvoet, an Antwerp art dealer whose artistic production was heavily influenced by Rubens, has most recently been proposed by Bert Schepers (see Literature).
