Perhaps her best-known image, this photograph is an example of Franck’s ability to recognize and seize the moment: “I remember running to get the image, while changing the film in the camera and quickly closing down the lens as the sunlight on the white tiles was so intense, that’s what makes photography so exciting” she says. A second or two later the perfect composition would have broken. Unlike the reflective mood of much of her works this image conjures up a fantasy of idle pleasure.
