The design for this chandelier was directly inspired from one executed by André-Charles Boulle in the early 18th century now in the collections of the Louvre Museum, Paris (inv. no. OA5101), also illustrated in H. Ottomeyer and P. Pröschel, Vergoldete Bronzen, Vol. 1, 1986, p.52, fig. 1.6.5). A related example after the same model was offered at Christie's London, Noble & Private Collections Part II, 27 April 2016, lot 208 and a further one at Sotheby's Olympia, 11 February 2003, lot 401.
