Description

NATURAL TIGER-EYE SLAB FROM MARRA MAMBA

Mt Brockman Station, Western Australia

19 x 10 inches, with highly polished face.

Found only in Western Australia, Marra Mamba Tiger's Eye was formed by processes that began over two and a half billion years ago. Unlike the more common form of tiger's eye, the bands of silky golden tiger's eye, strong red jasper, and metallic black hematite are not so tightly compressed together, and the cut and polished slabs or boulders of this mineral display greens and blues not present in the more common variety. The present specimen displays a desirable amount of character with alternating bands of green Riebeckite and yellow Goethite, red jasper with excellent sections of bright gold chatoyant tiger’s eye.
