Gifted to the current owner by the artist, circa 2010
The present lot dates to circa 2010, when Armitage received his Postgraduate Diploma from the Royal Academy Schools (having completed his undergraduate degree at the Slade in 2007). Armitage splits his time between his studios in London and Nairobi, and has recently enjoyed solo exhibitions at the Museum of Modern Art in New York and the Norval Foundation in Cape Town.
