A GOLD VERGE WATCH SET WITH AMETHYSTS AND APPLIED VARI-COLOUR GOLD SHELL-FORM DECORATION
CIRCA 1830
[法國製黃金鑲紫水晶懷錶，多色黃金貝殼造型裝飾，年份約1830]
• Movement: unsigned gilded full plate, verge escapement, plain flat three-arm balance, decoratively pierced and engraved balance bridge, fusee and chain, cylindrical pillars
• Dial: gold engine-turned, small satin finished chapter ring with Roman numerals, blued steel hour hand, lacking minute hand, outer minute ring, aperture for winding
• Case: gold, the case applied throughout with vari-colour gold shell-form decoration, bezel and case back further heightened with applied amethysts, bezel and bow similarly decorated, inside back withFrench control marks for 1819-1838 pendant with further French control mark for 1822-1838 case back numbered 18698 (possibly inverted 86981)
