A GOLD, ENAMEL AND DIAMOND-SET KEYLESS PENDANT WATCH IN THE FORM OF A SCARAB BEETLE
CIRCA 1880
[ 瑞士製黃金飾琺瑯鑲鑽石金龜子造型吊墜錶，年份約1880]
• Movement: unsigned oval gilded, wolf's tooth winding, cylinder escapement, flat three-arm balance
• Dial: white enamel, Roman numerals with red '12' o'clock, gold hands
• Case: gold, in the form of a scarab beetle, the back naturalistically chased and engraved with the insect's abdomen and legs, translucent red enamel covered wings heightened with black enamel spots, diamond-set outlines and neck, the forelegs forming the pendant, pusher to base of wings opens wings to reveal dial, ruby-set eyes, pusher for hand-setting to left of beetle's neck, case back hinged and opening to reveal glazed cuvette
