Symbolizing good fortune, courage and perseverance, the Japanese Koi is a carp fish widely celebrated in Japanese culture for its dazzling colours and vibrant energy. Inspired by this spiritual fish, Vacheron Constantin condensed the utmost dedication in production of the present enamel timepiece. Swimming elegantly on the dial are two gorgeous carps accompanied by a sprinkle of Autumn leaves. With an ingenious use of sharp colours comes a surprisingly harmonious contrast, displaying a peaceful scenery. A champlevé enamelling technique was used on the dial, with the dial hand engraved and decorated with layers of translucent enamel, resulting in an absolutely stunning and dynamic presentation.

Master Enamelist Laurent from Vacheron Constantin designed the dial by drawing inspiration from katanas and tsuba engravings from the Edo period. Yet due to the work's complex colour configuration, finding the right yellow for one of the carps became a perplexing task. In the end Master Laurent voyaged to Japan as he discovered the perfect yellow enamel, completing the final piece of the puzzle, with the golden carp swimming victoriously while radiating an eccentric touch. Unique and one of a kind, the “Autumn Carps” is a showcase of Master Laurent’s wild imagination and explicit enamelling techniques.

The watch is complete with all original accessories and in like new condition.
