Originally painted by Czech artist Alphonse Mucha, the Four Seasons is a collective set of four art panels personifying the cycles of nature. This extraordinary collection is reimagined onto the wrist by Jaeger LeCoultre's very own enameling master Miklos Merczel, who is well known for his miniature enameling techniques.
The following four watches were originally sold as a set and are numbered individually and 25 sets were made. The painted scenes are inspired by Alphonse Mucha, (24th July 1860-14th July 1939), the famous Czech Art Nouveau painter and decorative artist. These limited edition watches represent the four seasons of Spring, Summer, Autumn and Winter. Extremely well painted with vibrant colours and details, the seasons are an allegory, portrait with a woman surrounded by her dress that represents the colours of the season.
Blazing hot but cultured with life, endlessly long but embracing with warmth, the summer is depicted with a lady resting against a blossoming poppy field while dipping her feet into a cold soothing lake. Her red flower crown decorates her bright fiery hair, both contrasting perfectly against the vast infinity blue sky. The watch beautifully displays the coming of summer while showcasing the fine miniature enameling techniques of Jaeger LeCoultre.
