Founded in 2016, the Journe Society represents a small and private group of individuals with one thing in common: their love of F.P. Journe and the watches he produces. Working directly with Mr Journe himself, they collectively designed the present lot, the Society Chronometer. Forged in 18k 'straw gold' the case has an elegant subtlety about it and its colour changes in intensity as the wearer plays with the light.

The dial is matte, featuring an engine turned centrefield and displays the phases of the moon between 4 and 5. The moon phases are also adjustable, via the crown, a feature that was personally suggested by Journe himself 'in tribute to the lunatics who make up the Journe Society'. Each watch has been personalised also, bearing the name of the recipient to the case back.

To the best of our knowledge this is the first time such a model has been offered at auction. Ultimately the present lot offers any Journe enthusiast a very rare opportunity to purchase a very rare watch and, in so doing, joining that band of 'lunatics' that own the others.
