Lending the rich cultural capital from the medieval legend and turning literary inspiration into the finest example of horological artistry, The Knights of the Round Table II is a special limited-edition timepiece within Roger Dubuis’ iconic ‘Excalibur’ collection.  

Launched in 2017 as the second edition, the dial takes visual inspiration from the table of 12 knights who would meet regularly at the round table inside the court of King Arthur. This story is materialised in the form of 12 different life-like knight figurines raising their swords in place of regular hour markers. Presenting an ornate play of composition, the finely-sculpted bronze figures sized at merely 6.5mm complement the celtic knot-patterned ‘table’ engraved on the black-jade dial. Demonstrating the utmost elaborate attention to detail, these knights stand on a cobble-stone finished ‘floor’. Overall, the visual complexity of the dial design contrasts against the simple elegance of the fluted bezel and the sturdiness of the ‘triple’ lug holding all the intricacies in place. 

Assembled using 172 components and limited to only 28 pieces in total, Roger Dubuis presents a highly-creative imagining of the classic cultural iconography by using the most exquisite craftsmanship, displaying a spectacular example of métiers d'art.
