Produced from 1976 to 1998, reference 3700 was nicknamed the Nautilus “Jumbo” for its impressive size at that time, and received many variations. Designed by Gérald Genta, the Nautilus was inspired by the portholes on an ocean liner, and was marketed to be the most expensive stainless steel watch on launch. With the flat automatic movement calibre 28-255C and a date aperture, reference 3700 is considered one of the most important sports watches to date, proving itself to be a timeless classic.
The present watch has been preserved in very crisp and original condition with nice crisp case lines, full bracelet and original clasp.
