The present watch is the world’s first triple rattrapante chronograph that marked a milestone in the history of haute horology. Introduced by A. Lange & Söhne in SIHH 2018, the Triple Split belongs to the same Saxonia Collection as the Double Split from 2004.
This major technical accomplishment is indeed a breakthrough in split-second chronograph: conventionally, a rattrapante chronograph has superimposed hands that would split as the function is triggered with the pusher to stop the first hand while allowing the other to continue recording the time. Here in the Triple Split, not only the seconds and minutes can be compared but also the hours, with an accuracy of one-sixth of a second. Limited to 100 pieces, the present example is numbered 51 and offered in like new condition. For collectors and aficionados who appreciate the complexity of watchmaking should not miss this monumental masterpiece of the past decade.
