A GERMAN SILVER-GILT KIDDUSH CUP, PROBABLY FOR PASSOVER, AUGSBURG, CIRCA 1760
of typical form, the octagonal lip with Hebrew engraving, punctuated by flowers above a band of chased flowers and scrolls, faceted baluster stem, shaped domed base chased with shellwork
marked on foot, with unclear maker’s mark and Augsburg mark with date letter ?O for 1759-61

The inscription around the rim reads: “I will deliver you from their bondage” [Ex. 6:6]. This cup was thus likely used at the Passover Seder.
