the front elaborately carved and painted in polychrome with the festive birthday celebration of the famous Tang dynasty general Guo Ziyi, seated in the central hall, the focus of attention as guests and attendants converge bearing gifts, in a lavish garden setting of ponds and pavilions, enclosed within a border carved with 'Hundred Antiques', the reverse with a lengthy dedicatory inscription, names of the regional officials
