A CELADON JADE 'CHILONG AND PHOENIX' DOUBLE VASE GROUP
QING DYNASTY, 18TH / EARLY 19TH CENTURY
清十八 / 十九世紀初 青玉雕龍鳳紋夔龍耳活環雙聯瓶
the group impressively carved carved from a single stone, comprised of a baluster vase with a globular midsection bearing a taotie frieze all set over a waisted foot and surmounted by a columnar neck set with a pair of kuilong-form double handles each suspending a loose ring, a sinuous chilong ascending the neck and peering over the rim, its body carved in the round, the adjoining vase of cong form set atop an integral square-scroll stand, an openwork phoenix perched atop a lingzhi leaning against the side of the cong and looking up at a wafting cloud, the stone a translucent pale green with icy inclusions, wood stand with inlaid silver wire details (2)
