A RARE BLUE AND WHITE 'THREE FRIENDS OF WINTER' JAR
YONGZHENG MARK AND PERIOD
清雍正 青花歲寒三友圖罐 《大清雍正年製》款
robustly potted, of ovoid form with rounded tapered sides rising to a waisted neck and lipped mouthrim, delicately painted in shaded tones of underglaze blue with a large lofty pine, a blossoming prunus and tall arching shoots of bamboo stemming from jagged rocks, forming the 'Three Friends of Winter', all below a band of upright lappet and cloud scrolls enclosed in double-line borders encircling the shoulder, the recessed base centered with a six-character reign mark in underglaze blue
