Almighty Kay Gee started off as a break-dancer before joining the Cold Crush Brothers, the pioneering Hip Hop group founded in the Bronx, New York in the late 70s and who would go on to become the legendary Cold Crush 4 in 1980 featuring Kay Gee, Grandmaster Caz, Easy A.D. and JDL (Jerry D. Lewis) along with DJ Tony Tone and DJ Charlie Chase. The Cold Crush Brothers were featured in the iconic 1982 film Wild Style, directed and produced by Charlie Ahearn, twin brother of John Ahearn.
John Ahearn is a contemporary artist and sculptor best known for the public and street art he made in the South Bronx in the 1980s, as well as for his plaster casting portraits.
