FIRST EDITION, third issue, engraved frontispiece and 3 plates hand-coloured and 4 woodcuts in the text by John Leech, half title printed in blue, title-page in red and blue, 'Stave One' on p. [1], corrected text throughout, 2pp. advertisements at end, original cinnamon horizontally-ribbed cloth, covers with border stamped in blind that on the upper cover enclosing a wreath and lettering stamped in gilt, pale yellow endpapers, all edges gilt, preliminary leaves partly loose, preface torn at fore-edge, several leaves darkened at edges, endpapers soiled, joints broken, upper cover darkened and cockled, spine darkened with loss at head, chipped
