A CHINESE-STYLE GILT-BRONZE FIGURE OF A QILIN 19TH CENTURY | 十九世紀 鎏金銅中國式麒麟

The mythical beast is intricately modelled, richly gilt and skilfully utilising coral for the tail and decorated with rubies and emeralds. It clearly dates to the 19th century, but it is unclear if it was created in China, or is a skilful French interpretation of a traditional Chinese form.
