Another cast of the present model, as well as a version without the cherub element paired with a bust of Christ, were sold in these rooms as part of the collection of Luigi Koelliker on 3 December 2008 as lots 112 and 116. The Samuel H. Kress Collection catalogue (op. cit.) illustrates a cast in which the man is unclothed, with a shorter truncation, described as Florentine, 16th century.
