AN ETRUSCAN BRONZE FIGURE OF SILENUS, CIRCA 3RD CENTURY B.C.

from the top of a candelabrum, standing with the weight on his right leg on a spool-shaped base with beaded upper edge, his voluminous tail falling over the back of the right leg, and holding with his left hand a wineskin attached to a strap slung over his right shoulder and a drinking horn against his right hip, and wearing a finely incised animal skin falling from his right shoulder and leaving his lower body bare, his head turned to his left.
