AN OTTOMAN GILT-SILVER SCRIBE’S PEN BOX (DIVIT), EGYPT OR TURKEY, 18TH CENTURY
of elongated form, with a bulbous inkwell of rectangular section with champfered corners, decorated with cursive script, only partly deciferable, in oblong cartouches filled with arabesques, stamped with tughra, probably of Osman III (r.1754-57) on the underside of the ink well
