A PIETRA DURA MARBLE FOUNTAIN, NORTH WEST INDIA, CIRCA 18TH CENTURY
the centre carved as a large multi-petalled rosette with a bud-form fountain head emanating curling leaves, bordered by a colourful foliate vine, the spandrels decorated with interlacing tendrils composed of inlaid polychrome hardstones, the sides carved as upward turning palmettes, with a border of chevron design
