Abu'l-Hasan Ali ibn Salem ibn Muhammad al-Obadi al-Shinini was a well-known scholar and a poet from Iraq. The present work, copied during the lifetime of the author, contains a poem (and its explanation) on the Arabic words that contain the letter al-Zha’a. This poem, generally known as Qasida fil-zha’a, is relatively unknown, with one later copy recorded as part of a manuscript in the Staatsbibliothek, Berlin (MS. Orient.125, see Jamaluddin al-Rifa'i al-Sha'ib, Etha'af al-fuda 'ala fi bayan man a'lla' fa fi al-dha'a wa'l-l-zha'a, Egypt, 2002).
