A Hellenistic Marble Figure of Aphrodite
circa 2nd/1st century B.C.
the goddess standing with the weight on her right leg and leaning down to remove her sandal, her head turned to the right, drapery beneath her left thigh, her face with softly carved features, her hair parted in the center, bound in a wide diadem, and drawn back in long waves to a chignon behind; no restorations.
Height 45.7 cm.
