Hiram Powers created the first model of Diana for his patron Lucius Manlius Sargent. The artist based this ideal bust on his earlier sculpture America. Other examples of Diana are located in the collections of the Smithsonian American Art Museum, Washington, D.C, and the High Museum of Art, Atlanta, Georgia.
