An enamel snuff box with jewelled gold mounts, possibly Southern German, dated 1671
circular, painted on the exterior with subjects from the story of Joseph, as told in the Genesis, including the dreams of the Pharaoh, within elaborate floral enamel borders in relief, the interior painted with a fortified town by a riverscape, reeded gold mounts, the thumbpiece set with a rose diamond, unmarked, but dated: 1671 on the interior, in a circular leather case embossed with a coronet
