Jon Gilbert notes uncorrected proof copies of Casino Royale (identified by a different setting of the title-page and a longer opening sentence than published in the first edition).

The present copy has a title-page and opening sentence which match the first edition. The first (A) gathering comprises seven leaves (without the half-title) however the final (O) gathering also comprises seven leaves - with two blank leaves - between p. 214 and p. 215. It is crudely bound with stitching and, given the lack of printed wrappers, it is assumed that this is a corrected proof copy.
