The Rolex Submariner is one of the world's most recognizable watches, with the classic stainless steel variation being the most sought-after among collectors. First introduced in 2010, the ref. 116610 Submariner is the current iteration of Rolex’s classic stainless dive watch, and although it retains the same Caliber 3135 movement and 40 mm case diameter as its predecessor, virtually all other aspects of the watch have been updated. Along with larger hands and hour markers (known as a “Maxi” dial), the ref. 116610 boasts larger crown guards, thicker lugs, a Cerachrom ceramic bezel insert, and a completely redesigned bracelet and clasp. While the ref. 116610 offers a number of significant updates over its predecessor, it still adheres to the same timeless and highly-functional design language that was first introduced with the inaugural Submariner reference.
