manuscript in English, listing salaries of staff officers, guards and other regiments, infantry companies in New York, Bermuda, and Newfoundland, garrisons, staff officers appointed for European service, marines (also incorporating William Blathwayt's "Rules and Instructions for the better Government of Our Marine Regiments"), forces commissioned to serve in the European theatre, "An Establishment or List Containing all Payments to be made for Civil Affairs" including law courts, customs, and central government, in various sections and various dates from 1 June to 1 July 1702, 62 pages, plus blanks, 8vo (160 x 115mm.), contemporary gilt panelled red morocco with gilt lettering ("Establishments. 1702"), spine gilt in compartments, inside dentelles, edges gilt


An Establishment Book almost certainly produced for William Blathwayt (1650-1717), Secretary at War, summarising military and civil offices at the outset of the reign of Queen Anne, including the forces raised for service in the Low Countries under the command of Marlborough.
