An aerial view of Pad A, Launch Complex 39, showing the 363-feet-tall Apollo 15 space vehicle sitting on the pad. This image was captured during Apollo 15 Countdown Demonstration Test (CDDT) activity.


Apollo 15 represented the ninth crewed mission of the Apollo program, and the fourth to land on the Moon. It was the first J mission, with a longer stay on the lunar surface and an increased focus on scientific experimentation.
