This American musical film was directed by Joseph L. Mankiewicz, who also wrote the screenplay. It stars Marlon Brando, Jean Simmons, Frank Sinatra and Vivian Blaine. A number of songs from the Broadway musical (1950) were omitted from the film. However, three new songs were written, including 'Adelaide' which was specifically written for Sinatra.
