MANNER OF GIOVANNI ANTONIO CANAL, CALLED CANALETTO | Venice, a view of the Ponte di Rialto from the North

A copy, later in date, of the original painting by Canaletto of 1726-27, today in the Royal Collection, Windsor (inv. no. RCIN 400668).¹ That painting is one of a series of twelve views of the Grand Canal by Canaletto, which formed the basis for Visentini's series of engravings - most likely the inspiration for the present work.
