Edward Croft-Murray (1907-1980)
A talented musician, Dr Crotch was appointed organist of Christ Church, Oxford in 1790. He remained in the city until about 1810 when he moved to London.
This watercolour was once owned by Edward Croft-Murray, the highly respected art historian and Keeper of the Department of Prints and Drawings at the British Museum from 1954 to 1973.
