The present lot was presented to David Evan Davis, Jr. who served as Grand Marshal for Rolex 24 at Daytona in 2000, an epic feat of endurance held annually at Daytona International Speedway in Daytona Beach, Florida. Davis Jr was a celebrated American automotive journalist and founder of Automobile magazine. He made major contributions as an editor and publisher of Car and Driver and influenced the format in which automotive journalism is featured today.
