Patek Philippe's reference 5079 was launched in 2001 and to the best of our research, only about 70 examples were made within a five year period before the reference was retired.
Along with the reference 5070, this model is one of the most substantial watches produced in series by Patek Philippe with a 42 mm diameter case. The case celebrates a classic and understated white enamel dial that belies the elegant and extraordinary minute repeating movement. Indeed, the large case creates the perfect acoustic conditions for the caliber R 27 PS, fitted with cathedral gongs that reverberate with a deep chime.
