Mozart's scena and rondo for tenor with violin solo "Non più, tutto ascoltai ... Non temer, amato bene", K.490, was composed as a replacement number for the beginning of Act II of Idomeneo, as performed in March 1786 at the theatre in the Vienna palace of Prince Johann Adam Auersperg. An edition of the score only appeared after the vocal score of 1795 (Gayl & Hedler), and André's edition of the parts in the following year. The relationship, if any, of the present manuscript to these editions remains to be established.
