8vo (6 3/4 x 4 1/4 in.; 172 x 108). Title-page printed in red and black, imprimatur (A1v), errata (P3r); lacking folding engraved map and final blank, small marginal tears to O4, some light toning. Full brown calf, covers ruled in blind, edges speckled red, contemporary annotations to front free endpaper; overall rubbed, corners bumped, loss to upper corner of lower board, loss to head of spine, later annotations to final endpaper.  


First edition. A treatise on the supposed original language spoken by Adam and Eve, by the architect John Webb, a pupil of Inigo Jones.
