[ROWLING, J.K.]

The "Lumos Maxima" Sterling Silver Charm Bracelet with gold, diamonds and gems

194mm. sterling silver chain bracelet with eleven handcrafted charms including gold, diamonds and gems, a twelfth charm acts as a fastener, presented in purple silk and velvet lined folding box

Based on designs by author J.K. Rowling inspired by her Harry Potter books, this unique charm bracelet was crafted in 2013 by Scotland's leading jeweller and silversmiths, Hamilton & Inches. It was sold in these rooms, on 10 December 2013, to mark five years since the publication of The Tales of Beedle the Bard and to raise funds for Lumos, J.K. Rowling's children's charity.

The charms comprise Harry's bolt of lightning, glasses and broomstick, alongside a Golden Snitch, Dark Mark skull set with amethyst eyes, Slytherin locket, winged key, The Tales of Beedle the Bard book, sorting hat, Deathly Hallows symbol and the logo of Lumos. The bracelet fastens with a magic wand charm. Rowling noted that "the most precious charm of the lot is a little butterfly, which is the logo of Lumos, beaming with moonstones and amethysts - a symbol of transformation and liberations, of the beauty that can emerge from dark confinement".

In December 2013 Rowling contributed an article to Harper's Bazaar in connection with the bracelet and the charity.
