16mo, FIRST PRIVATELY PRINTED EDITION, FIRST PRINTING [LIMITED TO 250 COPIES] OF THE FIRST PETER RABBIT BOOK, coloured frontispiece and 41 black and white illustrations by Beatrix Potter, original pictorial grey-green boards, flat spine, collector's cloth chemise and green morocco-backed slipcase, occasional light browning and soiling, some splitting between gatherings, extremities worn, some splitting at gutter, minor loss to lower corner of upper cover

A copy of the author's first privately printed first book in the first printing with a flat back.
