one recommending the appointment of the Earl of Ross as Colonel of the 32nd Regiment of Foot, the others advising of his movements and where to send official papers, 4 pages, integral blanks, Queen's House and Windsor Castle, 19 October 1778 to 17 May 1781

[with:] Frederick, Lord North, autograph letter signed, to "My dear Lord", advising that a new Keeper of the State Papers should be chosen who has no interest in the work of the office ("...The arrangement of them is in the hands of Sir Joseph Ayloffe & Mr [Thomas] Astle. They have executed their business in a very meritorious manner, & have done much good.
