Amsterdam based Dutch artist, Jan Dibbets, began his career as an art teacher before moving on to study painting and eventually using those concepts to shape his photography practice. Focusing on light, perspective and space, Dibbets found inspiration in the architecture of Barcelona.

Spanish Art Historian and Curator Gloria Moure notes, “Together we wandered, unhurriedly but without pausing, through many places, seeking suitable interiors and natural light. Finally, Dibbets chose the skylight and dome of Elorn, the former central market built of wrought iron, the fantastic architecture of the vault of the Palau Güell, and the “butterfly” window of the Pedralbes horse stables designed by Gaudi.”
