Arabic manuscript on cream paper, 144 leaves plus 1 fly-leaf, 19 lines to the page, written in naskh in black, important words in red, titles in bold, in leather stamped binding

Two notes in different hands at the beginning of the manuscript, attribute the text to different authors: Ahmad bin ‘Ali al-Sa’ati al-Baghdadi on f.1a and Mohammed al-Hindi on f.2a. According to Brockelmann, Mohammed b. Mohammed al-Hindi al-Urmawi was of Indian origin, he went on the hajj in 667 AH, visiting Mecca as well as Egypt and Yemen, he travelled to Antioch and Siwas where he lived for five years, later he moved to Damascus where he died in 715 AH/1315 AD (see Brockelmann, GAL, II. 141). A work with the same title is recorded as being written by Ahmad bin ‘Ali al-Sa’ati al-Baghdadi (d.694 AD) (mentioned in the catalogue of the Muthanna Library, Baghdad, p.1991).
