  • Inscribed by Robert Motherwell to his architect Pierre Chareau.

Motherwell was the general editor of documents of modern art, and he has inscribed this copy to a noted French architect and his wife, "For Dollie & Pierre Chareau (1883–1950)/ with affectionate respect/ Robert Motherwell/ NYC/December 1944."
