Ranking among the most iconic chronographs, the Daytona family has adopted different styles and variations since launching in the 1960s.

The present example reference 116505 is a modern interpretation of the Cosmograph Daytona collection.

The model was first unveiled in 2008, three years after the development of the Everose.

The reference 116505 stands as an example of Rolex’s more experimental approach to the material and design of the classic Daytona. Housed in an Everose gold case and a glossy black dial with pink gold subsidiary dials, the watch features a combination that was uncommon at the time and became highly appreciated by collectors for its luxurious arrangement.

The collectible appeal of this model has been further increased by its discontinuation in 2023, being replaced by the Reference 126505.
