Description
During the 2011 Basel fair, Patek Philippe revamped its highly collectible perpetual chronograph collection by introducing the new reference 5270, replacing the 5970. The launch of this model marks a very important milestone in the history of Patek Philippe, as it is the first perpetual chronograph wristwatch to be equipped with a completely in-house designed and manufactured movement. Ergo it also marked the end of Patek Philippe using and modifying movements from third parties.
In 2018, Patek Philippe introduced an iteration with a platinum case and highly attractive salmon dial, such as the present example. Rarely used in Patek Philippe's collection, the salmon-colored dial is highly sought-after by collectors and provides contemporary watches a beautiful vintage and timeless touch.
In 2022, the salmon dial was discontinued, marking the end of what is considered as the most attractive and collectible version of the 5270. The watch has become extremely difficult to source as it gained an icon status and is preciously kept by enthusiasts in their collections.
The present timepiece is offered in very attractive condition and as a complete set with Certificate of Origin and presentation case.
The watch is offered with Patek Philippe Certificate of Origin, presentation case with outer packaging, instruction manual, leather bifold and travel pouch.
