Description
Enameling is an ancient decorative technique in which metallic oxides are heated to create these colorful and translucent motifs. Cloisonné enamel on the other hand, involves using gold wires to mark out spaces, separating metal oxides then applying heat to create a wonderous combination of colours. Across the watchmaking world, Patek Philippe is most well known for their exceptional craftmanship of enameling, usually found on their dome clocks and pocket watches. The present world time wristwatch reference 5131 applies the fine techniques of cloisonné enameling to display a sophisticated map of the world, featuring the American, European and African continents with vivid colours and finished to an immaculate texture.
Accompanied by a Presentation box, certificate of origin, instruction manual and leather booklet.
