Virgil Abloh pays homage to skate culture’s adoption of 1980s Nike basketball silhouettes with the Nike Dunk Low Off-White Michigan. When Nike unveiled the Dunk as the centerpiece of their Nike College Colors program in 1985, seven different colleges were represented in the first colorways offered, with Michigan being one of the first schools. A University Gold leather base covers the toe, mid-panel and ankle collar. Navy leather overlays contrast the bright yellow panels on the forefoot, toe, eyelets and heel with navy Swoosh branding located on the mid-panel. Traditional blue laces appear where they have always been, though Abloh opts to add a second set of bright orange laces in a staggered fashion throughout the upper. Completing the look of the limited-edition collaboration is a white rubber midsole with a blue outsole. Originally released in 1985, Dunks have become one of the most iconic sneaker styles of all time and a blank canvas for design inspiration.
